St. Lukes House/Montgomery Housing Partnership Service Linked Housing Program (SLH/MHP) St. Lukes House and a non-profit affordable housing developer, Montgomery Housing Partnership, have participated in a joint project to provide subsidized, service-linked housing for thirteen individuals who have been homeless because of a mental illness. As the project developed, it was determined that for financial and clinical reasons, the best way to serve these individuals is to place them in one of the St. Lukes House residential rehabilitation facilities and move a current St. Lukes House resident to the Montgomery Housing Partnership subsidized apartments. This project was made possible by a $100,000 grant from the Maryland Affordable Housing Trust Fund which is used to subsidize the rents charged by Montgomery Housing Partnership. After nearly nine years, this initial grant has been exhausted, so St. Lukes House, Montgomery Housing Partnership, and the Montgomery County Mental Health Core Service Agency have been investigating additional sources of funding and working with consumers to apply for any other rental subsidies for which they may be eligible. The number of consumers served in this project has remained stable.
